Anniversary poem

Two hands entwined, one brown, the other white,
Together this path we travel day and night.
We met by fated chance, then talked for hours
Before the courage at last to meet was ours.
Nervous both for we instinctively knew,
Stood on the brink of karmic love, we two.
We’re all players on a stage, so they say,
Each playing a role where fate is the way.
Spending some days living a mundane life,
Both as husbands, neither of us a wife.
A journey to the Truth now ten years gone,
Our love has grown, time it has stronger worn.
Ever forward, seeking, we’ve travelled together
To the ancient lands of your ancestors
Searching for a deeper sense of inner self
Visited temples filled with the knowing Self.
You’re my Attan, my rock, my guiding star
I’m your Babe, your greatest challenge thus far.

Some thought this relationship would never one year last
This decade, this truth, our true love, they doubt cannot cast.
