thoughts fleeting

I have been sitting by the ocean
Letting the breeze over the cliff-tops harken
My mind clear, the sun setting at my back
The wind laced shore and the waves beat tall.
The sky and its reflection sit heavy on my mind.
The events of the day disappearing, rewind
The motive of that moment clearing the ego
Love is fading in my heart, concede to the flow.
Peace ends the day so close to the briny deep
Much less strenuous than trying my fears to keep.

Questions may be asked of the direction I’m taking
But not if this journey is truly worthwhile.

The ferries ply across the glittering surface
The sunlight etching silver onto the green
And blue that is the surface of harbour
The white sails, over the waves slipping lightly.
Skipping over the heart. My solitude,
Draped across my shoulders as a cloak
The sun weak in the southerly wind.
Get a life Peter!! Start carving your niche.
All these plans that start out so well and end fading.
The green waters are deep, inviting but unreal.

One of the primal instincts of life sated.
Hunger. Having fed the body,
Rationed a little satiety to the soul.
Take a breath and lead the way,
Back from the edge of this diaspora,
The heart is softer. Now the need there is for love
Not just for the self, the entire being needs to shine.
Some of the self, the ego feeds another being.
Come back from this edge of loneliness.
Tempers reassured by the sounds of your Self
The temporal temperament of life
Food, music and other souls on this planet.
